State of the Nation

February 29th, 2008

Hello my fellow citizens,

during these hard times with the world changing rapidly, the glaciers melting, the price of oil rising faster than a moon rocket and more and more people starving to death, we are facing the biggest challenge of our history. And you still wonder why I didn’t become a politician? Ok, I’ll cut the crap and get to the point: Yesterday it became evident that we are now a trio, our ways with Ari have departed. We are sad that it got to this point, but this was the only solution we could come up due to reasons I’m not going to go through here. But yeah, we are now a band in search of a drummer. If you feel like you could be up to the task, or you know someone who could, give us a call!

So some line up changes about to come, but hopefully we will be back in business in no time. The next demo/EP/single/whateveryouwannacallit should be ready pretty soon, more news on that in a couple of days. Thank you for Ari for these few years, it was a blast!

On behalf of Ever Since The Day,
Kari

Life comes in the form of a new gig

February 6th, 2008

Hey,

we have a new gig coming up so mark it down to your calendars. On the 4th of April we will be playing at Vimma, Turku. The other bands performing are Nerveseed, Lines of Leaving and Renoise, so a real Tampere invasion is coming up. Eat mustamakkara for starters and come to Vimma for a dessert. Tickets are as cheap as chips, only 4/6€.

Live @ Ottopoika

February 6th, 2008

Hi there,

we played a show with Nerveseed at Tampere in Ottopoika on the 26th of January 2008. Again it has come the time to write some sort of a story about that trip and I’m fresh out of ideas. I’ve used all of my supposed-to-be-funny jokes and have verbally insulted Jouni on pretty much all of the previous journals… What now, what on earth could I write about? Maybe I’ll just stick to the old pattern, a few words about the gig and a picture of Jouni eating. Works every time. Or does it? You’ll be the judge and the jury. Here it goes.

Live @ NMKY Tampere

January 12th, 2008

Hi there,

these pictures will sum up everything you want to know about this gig. We had fun as usual. Oh yeah, the audience really liked Popeda. Makes sense. “Ikurin turbiini” is almost a sacred person in that neighbourhood, you don’t want to bash Pate if your not wearing heavy body armor and a mouthguard.

Interview on Radio Sata

November 30th, 2007

Heya!

Tune your radios to the frequency of Radio Sata (105,5 MHz in Turku, 105,2 MHz in Salo, others will have to listen to the webcast) on Saturday 1.12. or Sunday 2.12. at about 12.30!

They contacted us on a short notice about a possible interview that would be aired already this weekend, so of course we accepted the offer. Like we had a choice? I dropped by there with Archie and spoke some words of wisdom… This will also be the radio premiere of ‘It All Went Wrong’, the song that was supposed to stay only on our own hard drives. So don’t miss it!

Update on things

November 15th, 2007

Hi there,

as you’ve probably noticed we’ve neglected our ”duties” with the gig journal, but finally we got something done. If you have a few minutes to spare, go ahead and read them. Scroll down the screen a bit and you will find them, it’s as easy as that!

Now that I’m here, I could also give you a small update on how the next demo is progressing. Well, actually, it’s not. The mixing proved to be a lot harder than everyone anticipated, so a lot of water will flow under the bridges of Aurajoki before our project is done… Hopefully we’ll get it done before Christmas, but I won’t give you any promises on that. We’ll see how it ends up. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

And yeah, the gig at Riihimäki was unfortunately cancelled due to reasons beyond our control. But now let us enjoy the winter as long as it lasts. ‘Till next time.

-Kari

Live @ Suuntimofest 2007

November 15th, 2007

On the 8th of September we had our very first festival gig: Suuntimofest at Helsinki. The scale of the event was nothing like Ruisrock or Provinssirock, but a festival anyway. I doubt that we even would be ready for the big stages of the big summer festivals. Anyway, click “read more” if you want to waste your time by reading a couple paragraphs of text.
