Hey ya!
The summer has reached Finland, at least for now. While we know you all are torching yourselves out on the beach, it would still be nice if you could surf the Internet for a while. Ever Since The Day is attending the Rockstarba contest by Radio Rock. Last year we made it to the semifinal phase, so this time it’s time to reach higher. Moreover, the song we are attending with is brand new! It’s called Repeat and it is one of the songs recorded last winter and spring. Now we need a mass of votes on the contest web site. We are also finishing our way too long break in live shows. On Thursday 3.6. we’ll conquer Klubi in Turku with two great bands, our friends Five Minutes For Myself and Bad King. If you hunger to hear some new ESTD songs live, be sure to get there!

Greetings my fellow citizens,
The time has come to offer you bread and circuses in the form of two acoustic songs. The long-term plan is to make acoustic versions of both old and new songs and publish them every now and then.
These two songs were recorded in the fall/winter of 2009, and as we were drummerless at the time, Johannes was promoted to the position (with Cajón as his weapon). A position I envy cause let’s face it, deep down we all want to be drummers, right? Though I’m saying this myself, the versions turned out quite good, Repeat is a piece of perfection. If you do not agree, just pretend you do. The thought of someone not liking the versions is unbearable.

I am happy to announce that Ever Since The Day has adopted a healthy boy. The void left by Joni has been filled by Henri, and he too has quite big biceps. So, the rhythm duo still holds the main responsibility of the band’s physical presence. I’m not sure if Henri likes canned Elovena or uses duct tape in his ears as a fashion statement, but since he can play the drums, who cares? Stay tuned just for the sake of staying tuned!

The circle closes and the band is drummerless yet again. The coming months will tell if this is the last breath of a dying band, or a vitalizing injection fixing a temporary disability.
There was no drama involved, this was just a simple case of life getting in the way. As some of you might have read, Joni has recorded drums for what will probably become the next demo. You can follow the progress in the studio diaries in here.

The third gig of “Get over getting older” tour was in Turku on the second of October. Yet again a private event. I tried to get Johannes to make this journal, but he seemed really reluctant, and since I promised that all the gig journals would be done by the end of this year, it means that I don’t have that much time to make this. Luckily we bumped into Kari, who agreed to interview us. Sick, ain’t it?

The second leg of the “Get over getting older” -tour was in Turku on the 12th of September 2009. Again we were rolling as a trio, and had spiced up our setlist with a few carefully picked cover songs.

The first leg of our “Get over getting older” -tour was in Pori on the 13th of June 2009. The tour includes a bunch of private events where we play acoustic. Though this is not a real tour in the sense that the gigs are not on consecutive days, but since all of the events have a common factor, I hereby with the power invested in me by the band will entitle this as a tour.

The previous gig before this was in Vfest, so the circumstances were quite different compared to that. There were roughly the same amount of people in Rokkibaari as there were in Messukeskus during our set. If you’ve ever been to Rokkibaari, then you know that the place was packed.

Hello,
I thought I’d give you a status update of what we’ve been up to, since we’ve been quiet for a while. We’re heading for the fall more fit than ever: Jouni has cycled a ridiculous amount of kilometers during the summer, Johannes has been busy mountain biking and I’ve been mainly working on my biceps. Joni has taken part in some secret Navy Seals camp, top secret stuff. He actually went MIA for a while, but held his act together and will soon be a real marine. So all in all, we are more fit than ever.
We’ve talked a long time about recording acoustic versions of a few of the songs, and we decided that now would be a good time for that. We’ve actually already done most of the first song. So, if you understand Finnish and have a lot of extra time at hand (assuming you are a slow reader), just wait for the studio journals.
And oh yeah, as a friend of ours pointed out, a few gig journals are still missing. So, here and now, I promise that they’ll be published before the end of the year. I believe that is a fair deadline for us enthusiastic writers.
